Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Sullivan was born in and lived from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam the mother of Jazmine is a former backing singer of Philadelphia International Records. Her father gave her the job of curator at the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She along with her family moved into the landmark. The 2005 graduate from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts where she was an instructor of vocal music. Sullivan was a contralto singer for the choir for children and later just a few years later, she was a singer in the adult choir. Sullivan was not exposed to the world of secular music for the first time. "I was singing for the first time solo in churches, and one of my friends asked me to commit to record a gospel song when I was 11. But I wasn't ready to take that step," she says. At that time, McDonald's held a contest that was open to children living in cities. I had the opportunity to perform "Accept what God allows" on the show Showtime at the Apollo. And the audience was very supportive. Stevie Wonder sang her part on his birthday, 13 years old. Sullivan was 15 when she began her career with Jive Records. The label initially signed Sullivan to Jive Records in the year fifteen. She recorded an entire album. The album did not see release. Sullivan was ultimately eliminated by the label. They maintained a friendship with Missy Elliott she produced several tracks from her debut, including the buzz single "Backstabbers" composed by Timbaland and written by Elliott.
